Math is the language of science, a God-given tool required to understand, analyze, and interpret science. Unfortunately, most math curricula don’t teach math this way and many of the skills required to fully understand science are not taught until 11th and 12th grade.
Teaching Textbooks is one that is missing many of these skills. It is not optimal for use with any college preparatory science curriculum, especially if you plan to take AP exams to earn college credit and boost applications in the scholarship and admissions selection process.
If your student is planning to go into a math or science field, I recommend switching to our new Shormann Interactive Math which is a complete stand- alone curriculum that is like using Teaching Textbooks (video lectures, automated grading, grade recording, and video solutions) but with the college prep concepts and teaching methodology like Saxon. Shormann Algebra 1 and 2 teach every concept on the newly redesigned PSAT and SAT, as well as the ACT and CLEP College Algebra which earns up to three college credits.
Shormann Interactive Algebra 1 Published by Dr. Shormann, author of the award-winning DIVE video lectures for Saxon Math, and based on John Saxon’s original teaching methods of incremental development, continual review, and integrated algebra and geometry, Shormann Math is a 21st Century curriculum that teaches all the concepts required to excel on the newly redesigned PSAT and SAT as well as the ACT, CLEP, and AP exams. It includes concepts like technology applications, computer math, real-world word problems, and non-standard solutions not found in Saxon Math or most other math curricula.
