Shormann Prealgebra is a newly released product. It is the equivalent of Saxon 8/7 (2nd & 3rd editions). Dr. Shormann now recommends the Shormann Prealgebra course.
Shormann Prealgebra is the transition between Arithmetic and Algebra. It is crucial for a student to gain more fluency in the arithmetic functions while introducing Algebra. Shormann Prealgebra does this more efficiently, with fewer lessons (100 vs 120) and fewer problems per lesson than Saxon 8/7. The question by question automated grading, with solution videos and links to lessons and examples in which the specific topic is taught, provides quick correction for areas of difficulty. Featuring an integrated approach to math that includes technology applications and real-world word problems, Shormann Prealgebra is a 21st Century curriculum that prepares the student for Shormann Algebra I & II and higher level math, in which all the concepts required for the new, redesigned PSAT and SAT, as well as ACT, CLEP and AP exams, are taught. Shormann Math is built on a Biblical and historical foundation that teaches math as the language of science; a tool used to better understand God and His creation. An emphasis on math's history gives students a clearer picture of the "why" behind the math they are learning, while shedding light on modern math's rich Christian heritage. Hosted in a state of the art eLearning Campus, similar to the systems used in college math classes, students learn more efficiently, building fluency with less homework than traditional Saxon texts. Students learn how to use math as a tool to explore their world and enhance their own God-given creativity.
