Dear Dr. Shormann,
Just thought I would let you know that Linnea has finished her first year at McMaster University. We would like to inform you that she finished on the Deans Honour list and was accepted into any of the four Honour programs of her choice. I believe we have proved the University wrong regarding the D.I.V.E. program and homeschooling. Thanks again and God bless!

Hi Dr. Shormann, Nathan wrote the ACT test in December and had a composite score of 30. In January we sent a high school transcript and portfolio. Last Tuesday Nathan was offered admission to the two programs he had applied to at Western University in London, Ontario. They were Medical Science and Science. We were very excited and praise God for His faithfulness and goodness to us through this whole application process! Nathan’s first choice has always been Medical Science but we are taking a bit of time to pray and be sure of God’s direction before he sends in his acceptance.
We wanted to thank you again for all of your help! Thank you also for your excellent DIVE lectures – they have been a great asset to our Saxon math courses. We appreciate your godly example as a mathematician and scientist; it is a blessing for our children to see Christians who are living out their faith in these fields.
May God continue to bless you and your family as you serve Him,
J----

Hello, I would appreciate it if you could get this note to Dr. Shormann.
Our daughter, Linnea, homeschooled High School through Seton. Her subjects, which she loved included DIVE into Math/Physics etc. When time came for her to apply to University here in Canada, which was probably about 13 1/2 years ago; McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario said she was accepted into a Humanities program (which she did not apply to) but was not eligible for a Science based program (Bio-Chemistry) because they said her DIVE programs were not sufficient to be accepted as credits at McMaster. Her desire was to be a Doctor; therefore, she needed a Science based program.
The day before the deadline to accept the Humanities course (which she was not going to accept,) I tried to appeal to the Registrar who refused to listen to my appeals. I decided to write to Dr. Shormann at midnight, regarding our dilemma. He wrote back to me at about 3am our time. He wrote an awesome letter indicating that he was willing to talk to the registrar’s office with regards to this situation. His letter defended the fact that the DIVE programs were at least equal to our Canadian Curriculum. As soon as I saw his quick response I forwarded it to the Registrar. The Registrar responded immediately by giving Linnea 4 hours to go to the University to accept a position in the Bio-Chemistry program. We quickly complied and she spent 4 years at McMaster receiving her degree, than went to Medical School in Ireland, next she completed her 5 year Surgical Residency in Phoenix, Arizona and is now a licensed General Surgeon here in Canada. She is currently completing a Fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at Toronto General/University of Toronto. I thank Dr. Shormann for his care and generosity to us. I believe he was an answer to my prayers and without him the road would have been much different. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank him and ask Almighty God to bless him and his family.
P.S. Not sure if he recalls this, but I hope he does.
God Bless, D
