Can I read the lesson in the book instead of watching the lecture?

We normally get this question from students and parents who think they have to read the lesson and watch the lecture. But that is not correct. Students who watch the lecture do not need to read the lesson section of textbook pages. They should only read the Rules & Definitions section.

If your student prefers to read the lesson instead of watching the video lecture, that is acceptable. However, they should still take notes and solve the example problems on paper as instructed in the Instruction Sheet For Lectures, which is linked above each lecture.

Keep in mind, most college math courses do not have a textbook. They are e-learning courses very similar to Shormann Math courses.
