DIVE for Saxon Math: Why don't the lectures show the teacher?

Research shows students generally learn best in short, interactive video presentations with no teacher to distract the student. Our lectures are short (10 minutes or so in 6/5) bite-sized lessons that are easy to understand. While watching the DIVE video lecture, the student works interactively, taking brief notes and working example problems. After each example problem is presented, students pause the lecture and solve the problem on their paper. This "learn by doing" builds retention which means fewer missed/forgotten questions when solving the homework problems.

A longer lecture would require more entertainment to hold the student's attention. But does not translate into better learning outcomes in math. Learn More: How Does DIVE make Saxon Math faster and easier to learn?
