How to use DIVE Earth Science as a high school course?

While originally designed as a middle school course, DIVE Earth Science can be modified for use as a High School course. Most states consider Earth Science a "Distinguished" high school science course.

Honors High School Course

  • Administer the 100 Question Quarterly Reviews as exams. Students can make one review sheet to use during the exam. No notes or other resources. For details, see “Instructions for Quarterly Reviews” in the Teacher's Guide.
  • All other assignments should be completed as instructed in the Teacher's Guide.
  • Use the Honors Grade Scale in the Teacher's Guide to assign the final grade.
  • List the course as 1 credit of Honors Earth Science with Lab and adjust the grade point scale to A=5, B=4, etc. For details and a free transcript template see: Transcripts & Credits

Standard High School Course

  • Administer the 100 Question Quarterly Reviews but students can use their notes. For details, see Instructions for Quarterly Reviews
  • All other assignments should be completed as instructed in the Teacher's Guide.
  • Use the Standard Grade Scale in the Teacher's Guide to assign the final grade.
  • List the course as 1 credit of Earth Science with Lab. For details and a free transcript template see: Transcripts & Credits
